Easter Bunny

Before you look at the pictures, a little back story. We get to the Easter Bunny when there is no line except for the little adorable boy about 10-12 months old sitting on it's lap. The boy is laughing hysterically and we think this is a good sign that Riley won't have a problem with it. So we walk up to the bunny and place her on it's lap.
That is when the bunny moved....
For the life of my little girl, she could NOT figure out why this big stuff animal could move and was trying to touch her.

She wouldn't even let down her elbows for fear of provoking this scary animal.

At first glance this looks like a semi normal picture with her offering someone off camera an egg, but if you concentrate on the eyebrows you will notice that this isn't an innocent gesture, it's a bargaining tool. "I will give you this egg if you please save me from this over sized stuffed moving thing that I don't even know what sound it makes"
Maybe if it had been an Easter Elephant all would have gone smoother.
**Will update in five years to see if there has been any lasting traumatising affects**

Down on the farm

All in a days work...

This is one of the new calf's on the Hofeditz farm. Born yesterday, he is one of five bulls born in three days. It's been a busy Spring already.

This is Houston. He is 30 years old! (Wave to the camera, Riley)

This was the first bull of the season. How cute is he!

These are the newest sheep on Aunt Jean's farm. Totally adorable. I could snuggle with one of these for hours!

Man, farm life (when your only visiting) is great!!!

Hair-do of the year

Every one should have a hair-do like this!

Awe, so pretty.

Okay, Okay! I will type!

Okay, for everyone that is on my FaceBook page, sorry, you have already seen these pictures... For everyone else I thought I would share these. My grandpa had to stay over night in the hospital (nothing serious) but he asked us to watch his dog, Sugar.

Sugar, a very "understanding" dog, took Riley with a grain of salt (unlike our own dog who has jealousy issues.) Sugar also is box trained which made for really easy nights for me! Riley got a huge kick out of a dog that actually liked/tolerated her. Especially when she would get kissed by the dog, which would lead into a roar of belly laughs.

But then, when she was bored with that (which if you have/had and 18 month old you know how this can happen) she would move on to the box!

"Hey, Sugar! Whatcha up to?"

"Hey, mom, me and Sugar are going on a ride."

"Bye, Sugar, this is your stop!"

"Okay, mom, I am off to work!" (What you can't see is that she packed her play purse, her play phone and her play credit card in this 'car')

And this is right after she told me "Bye Bye" and locked herself in.

Note to Bloggers - Sugar is very attached to her box and was about to pee in the floor at this point. She didn't know what to do about someone else taking it over and making it into either a car or an office (the jury is still out on that one.)

Next to (hopefully) come is the night that we/Riley got bored and made me put about a thousand hair clips in her hair just so she could take them out one by one until she was clean of them, just to make me put them all in again.

Hey, if it entertains an 18myo then so be it. Any one else got any suggestions?

Sorry Everybody...

Sorry if you have been waiting on me to add a new post! I apparently am really bad at this. I have uploaded all of my pictures from my camera to the computer, but haven't found time at home to work on an actual blog. I hope to have one really soon.

Girls Night Out

Tonight I got to get together with my long lost sister Jenn. For any one that's reading this that doesn't know her, she was my bestfriend, my sister, from high school. She is the one that finally convenience me that I was pregnant when she called me to tell me about her bun-in-the-oven. I ended up being a month ahead of her (denial I guess you would call it.) We always planned to have our kids grow up together, but miles between us had put that at a stand still. Well, tonight she came to town and went out to dinner with my rents. I caught some pictures of them running wild after dinner was over...

The New Camera

Yea! The new camera came in. And just as I suspected, it's a lot easier to upload pictures with. It takes awesome pictures:

Today I got some to show Riley's boyfriends in the future. That's right, bath time!

Is that a rat tail I see?

I also got some good ones of Karl teaching Riley to write her own name:

How cute... more to come!

Random Stuff

Karl saved up and got me this really cool camera off of eBay. I can't wait until it comes in. Maybe it will cause me to post more/better pictures on this blog and on Facebook. Now if we could just get a better computer so it was even easier!
Riley has now moved from headbanging to "That 70's Show" theme song and bending at the knees to any other music that she thinks is classy to moving her hands too. Now in a "Walk Like an Egyptian" motion she has added hand movement to her dances. As soon as I can catch this on video I will be sure to share. Normally, however, as soon as I get the video camera or phone out she immediately stops what she is doing and wants to see herself in action, even if I haven't gotten any action on there yet.
The Sit-n-Spin she got for Christmas from cousin Danielle, who thought "oh, this is a toy she won't grow out of immediately". She's already mastered it! I couldn't believe it because I didn't show her how to do it and she's only 16 months old. There's no way she could have known! I will admit to having "tried it out", you know, just to be sure it wasn't poisoness :) But, either way, it didn't work (they sure don't make things like I remember them when I was 10!) Well, I tried to get this on video also, I did manage about 10 seconds of recording before she realized what I was doing and got up :(
Her new thing is to turn on the loud music from the Sit-n-Spin then run across the room to Sing-n-Stage that Karl and I got her for X-mas and dance in the mirror. Then when the music FINALLY turns off, she runs back across the room and turns it back on and repeats the whole process. I have watched this go on for as long as 30 minutes! And it's not like the Sing-n-Stage doesn't have it's own music, I think she just prefers the music from the other toy.
Not much else going on in life right now, she takes up all of it, as it should be.

New Years

New Years Eve started out rocky. I got off work early and Karl and I enjoyed a nice, quite beer lunch together. Then on to grocery shopping. We came home, cleaned the house (much to my procrastinating) and then made some snackie food.

The plans were for Karl's sister and brother in law to come over. It was quickly discovered that those plans would fall through. So on to the texting. I think we texted everyone in our phone book looking for anyone that didn't already have plans for the night.

Danielle and Hannah were the first to come over. Although Hannah couldn't stay long, Danielle actually helped keep us entertained for a long while. We enjoyed a naughty game of Dirty Minds, to which she kicked our ass. Afterwards she had to leave to make sure her house guest weren't having a party without her.

Then Garson, our friend, came over. While drinking Coca-Cola (looser) he did manage to fix most of what was wrong with our computer (no longer a looser.) Karl said he stayed until about 3, at which point I had been in bed for 2 and a half hours already.

Our neighbors made it over before midnight to share in the festivities. They brought some fun with them, but I really don't remember much after 11. I really shouldn't start drinking at noon!

So moral of the story, we started out with no one here and a ton of food. But the night went on, people came, stayed, and ate almost all of the food! It ended up being a great night. Hope everyone else enjoyed their New Years Eve.

Welcome to 2009!
